2025 NWT School Badminton Championships – Juniors

📷 Mairin

The 2025 NWT School Badminton Championships for Juniors brought together over 200 student athletes from across the Territory for three exciting days of competition in Yellowknife.

Schools and teams travelled in from the South Slave, North Slave, and Sahtu regions, filling the courts with energy, determination, and sportsmanship. For many athletes, this event marked their first territorial championship experience, while for others, it was a chance to return stronger and more confident than the year before.

The tournament took place across three host schools, Weledeh Catholic School, St. Patrick High School, and Sir John Franklin High School. Each venue was alive with rallies, cheers, and moments of growth that went far beyond the scoreboard.

This championship was about more than medals. It was a celebration of participation, effort, teamwork, and the relationships that school sport creates across communities. Athletes supported one another, coaches guided with care, and volunteers kept everything moving smoothly from the opening matches to the final ceremonies.

We extend our sincere thanks to the hosts, officials, coaches, teachers, parents, and volunteers who made this championship possible. Your commitment and energy created an environment where young athletes could compete, learn, and thrive.
