Junior Spike It Welcomes 46 Teams to Yellowknife

Junior Spike It brought hundreds of young athletes together in Yellowknife for a weekend filled with volleyball, teamwork, school spirit, and fair play.

A total of 46 teams participated in the tournament, including seven teams from outside Yellowknife. Games were hosted at six schools across the city: Range Lake North School, École St. Joseph School, École Allain St-Cyr, École William McDonald Middle School, St. Patrick High School, and Weledeh Catholic School.

One of the highlights of the weekend was seeing so many Fair Play Pins presented to athletes. The pins recognize actions that demonstrate respect, kindness, integrity, and good sportsmanship. These moments are an important reminder that school sport is about more than the final score.

It was also wonderful to see Chief Sunrise Education Centre win its pool and advance to the Grade 8 boys final, where the CSEC Wolves finished second behind the PWK Huskies.
