At the 2026 Senior Super Soccer event, the NT School Sports Kindness Wall once again became a space filled with encouragement, humour, positivity, and connection.
Students, coaches, volunteers, and spectators from across the Northwest Territories stopped by throughout the event to leave messages for one another. Some messages were heartfelt, some funny, and others simple reminders to support each other and enjoy the moment.
As part of the Kindness Wall initiative, NT School Sports held a contest where one message would be selected to win a pizza lunch for their school team. This year’s winning message came from Jolie (#6, Jr Boys) from East Three Secondary School in Inuvik. Written in large bold letters on a bright green post-it note, the message simply said:
“PLAY HARD! (not too hard)”

A message that made people smile while also capturing the spirit of fair play, competition, and respect that NT School Sports aims to promote at every event. When asked why she wrote the note, Jolie shared: “I put the note because I was trying to inspire others and to just have fun.” Simple, honest, and powerful.
Following the event, NT School Sports coordinated a pizza lunch for the East Three Secondary School team, with support from teachers Ethan Lavoie and Kenzie MacDonald, and Lil Ava’s Pizza in Inuvik. The celebration included pizzas, cheesy breadsticks, and plenty of smiles.

The Kindness Wall continues to remind us that school sport is about much more than wins and losses. It is about community, belonging, encouragement, and creating spaces where young people feel supported and connected. Sometimes all it takes is a small sticky note to leave a lasting impact.
