Fair Play Pin Celebrates Character That Inspires Others

As another exciting year of school sport approaches, NT School Sports is looking forward to recognizing the moments that truly define our events, not just great performances, but great character.

The NT School Sports Fair Play Pin celebrates the people who make school sport better through their actions. Whether it’s helping an opponent, encouraging a teammate, showing respect to officials, welcoming a new participant, or demonstrating quiet leadership, these are the moments that deserve to be recognized.

Unlike medals or trophies, the Fair Play Pin cannot be won through the scoreboard. It is earned through kindness, integrity, inclusion, and respect.

Throughout the 2026–2027 season, organizers, volunteers, coaches, and event leaders will be watching for those special moments that reflect the values of school sport across the Northwest Territories.

  • Recipients may include:
  • Student-athletes
  • Coaches
  • Officials
  • Volunteers
  • Teachers
  • Spectators
  • Anyone who demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship and leadership

When someone goes above and beyond, they may receive a Fair Play Pin on the spot or be recognized later through their school or community.

We also encourage everyone attending NT School Sports events to help us celebrate these moments. If you witness an act of kindness, leadership, inclusion, or respect, you can submit a Fair Play Moment through the online form available on our website.
Every pin tells a story.

Every story helps build a stronger school sport community. We look forward to seeing many Fair Play Pins awarded throughout the upcoming school year and celebrating the individuals who remind us that sport is about much more than competition.
Play with respect. Lead with kindness. Inspire others.
