Celebrating Our Coaches – National Coaches Week with NT School Sports

From gymnasiums to outdoor tracks, from badminton courts to soccer fields, our schools are filled with unforgettable memories, and behind them all are the coaches who make it happen. This National Coaches Week (September 15–21, 2025), NT School Sports is proud to recognize and celebrate the dedicated educators, volunteers, and teacher-coaches who give their time, heart, and energy to support youth across the Northwest Territories.

Whether leading lunch-hour practices, traveling across the territory for tournaments, or building skills and character during after-school sessions, coaches help youth feel seen, supported, and inspired. Many of our school sport coaches are also community leaders, classroom champions, and lifelong learners themselves. From developing fundamental movement skills to nurturing high performance and a love of sport for life, they make a difference every day.

Coaches and sport supporters can take advantage of FREE NCCP eLearning courses offered by the Coaching Association of Canada during National Coaches Week. Log in to the Locker to access them:
