The gym was full of energy this past weekend as teams from across the Northwest Territories gathered in Yellowknife for the Senior Cager, one of the highlights of the NT School Sports basketball season.
It was wonderful to see so many out-of-town teams make the journey to compete, bringing athletes, coaches, and supporters together for a weekend of exciting games and strong community spirit. Schools from small communities across the territory were well represented, and many of those communities returned home proudly with banners after outstanding performances on the court.
Throughout the tournament, the atmosphere inside the gym was incredible. Athletes competed hard, supported one another, and represented their schools and communities with pride. Moments like these showcase what school sport is truly about, bringing young people together through competition, teamwork, and shared experiences.
NT School Sports would like to extend a sincere thank you to the officials and volunteers who helped make the tournament possible. From organizing games to ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout the weekend, their dedication and support played a key role in creating a positive experience for all participants.
Congratulations to all teams for their efforts and achievements during the Senior Cager.
